If you're an acoustic blues player and you wonder why that $1000 axe you bought doesn't sound authentic when you try to play blues like those by Blind Blake, Blind Willie McTell, or Blind Lemon Jefferson, I can tell you why it doesn't and never will. All of those of those guys and most of the other blues players form the 30s played birch body guitars. Some had spruce and birch. Some had all birch. No American guitar made today can give you that sound. The all birch Stella that I'm offering has The Sound: even, woody, bright, clear, ringing tone. This guitar, unlike 99% of the Stellas that you find on eBay, has perfect action. It has had a pro neck set and the original tuners made by the Waverly Company still work well enough to keep the guitar in tune 50 years later. This model dates from the very end of the great Harmony Company's contribution to American guitar making. It has a Harmony logo on the peghead and a Stella label. The coolest thing about this guitar is its Fender style headstock with delux nickel plated six on the side tuners. This instrument dates from the period when Harmony was under a contract to product accoustic guitars for Fender. This is the only small bodied Stella with a Fender style headstock that I've ever seen. I particularly like the faux flamed red birch stain on the top and back. This is one of the most attractive combinations that Stella ever offered. This guitar is in unusually nice condition, suitabe for the collector as well as the player. It is in at least excellent minus condition. For less than $100 you can play blues like the old masters. The sound clip will be listed on Thursday.
